Dwight Bleiler

Name: Dwight and Darlene Bleiler Dwight Bleiler Darlene Bleiler
Home town: From Powell River BC. Then moved to Westbank 1993.
Truck Info: 1951 Dodge Pickup - modified.
The truck was built in 11 months and on the road in 12. Built in Don Mills shop in Rutland, in 2001 and 2002.
Front clip, radiator, motor, transmission, power brakes, rear end, harness, all came from a 78 Plymouth Volarie, full load car with 106,000 kms.
Kieth Coe & Coe welded in the Volarie clip to the 51 Dodge PU main frame.
Don Mills & I did the rest.
How long have you had the truck? Since 2000 about 18 years.
What do you like about the truck?
I like the way it handles and brings back memories of my mom and dad with their 51 Dodge PU.
I learned how to drive, when I was 11 or 12, (1956) on a 51 Dodge PU, Dad had bought brand new. In the hay fields & woods. Lots of hauling the loads home.
Dads truck was a 6 cylinder 218 flat head engine with a fluid drive transmission, which was good for stop and go running. You put it in low gear and step out of truck with motor running and it would not move or stall.
What plans do you have for the truck? Drive and enjoy. As the money trickles in - a complete body prep and repaint. New door panel covers.
Features of the Truck: Plymouth Volarie clip, 360 V8 engine, automatic transmission.
Tell us about yourself.
I was raised in Lund 17 Km north of Powell River, on sunshine coast mom and dad, brother George and sister Teresa. We lived on a 125 acre stump ranch with 5 acres cleared, raised our own beef and chickens, had a massive garden. I also learned how to drive a 1950 John Deere model M tractor at the same time.

Cors Verhage

Just a little info on the “Heartbreaker”
She is a pearl white 1993 Cadillac Allante that was ordered by Tom Petty in 1992. This car has a few uncommon features such as neutral dashboard, neutral door tops, neutral convertible top cover. I added a custom wind screen, she runs on 19” Dub Wheels and the mileage is now at 34,000 miles. This beautiful car was in the Petty Family collection until 2004. In 2012 I was able to purchase the car from a private collector in Los Angeles and she now enjoys her home in Peachland BC.

As you can tell, my passion is Cadillacs, especially the Allante. The bodies were designed and built in Italy by Pininfarina. Three Boeing 747 aircraft were customized to hold 56 Allantés each. The 747's left Detroit with Eldorado chassis halves, instruments, air conditioning, steering column, and most of the electronics. The Pininfarina plant then cut and welded the two sub chassis together, installed the bodies and interior, painted them. The cars were then flown back to the Hamtramck Detroit assembly plant. In Detroit Cadillac installed the front and rear sub frames, suspension, drive train, steering box, brakes, fuel tank, wheels and the tires. This entire process was referred to as "The world's longest assembly line".

Terry & Gillian Johnston

Love ❤️ at First Sight
The other day April 5, 2020 marked the 53rd anniversary of the day that Terry and Gillian Johnston bought this 1963 Chevy 2 Nova SS convertible in Vernon BC
It was 4 years old and belonged to Mrs Pat Jordan the MLA for Okanagan North
She had ordered it new and it was still like new the day we saw it and loved it and bought it from her.
We were married 6 weeks later and off we went on our honeymoon in our convertible
Over the years we have great memories with our Nova SS and both of our kids used it in pictures of their weddings
Gillian had it restored at the GM dealer as a surprise for Terry’s 40th birthday and over the winter this year we had it repainted.
It looks as good or better than the day we bought it. We loved it then and we still love it today!
We hope to see everyone again when the Peachland Wheel Nuts are able to meet again at the A&W

1992 Firebird Formula.
This is the last production year of the 3rd generation Firebird with 36,000 miles when I purchased Aug 2020.
The Formula model was developed to compete on price with the Mustang. It is hundreds of pounds lighter than the Trans Am and came with all the performance options.
This car is equipped with 240 hp. 5.0 FI V8 engine, 5 speed manual, WS6 suspension, dual catalytic converter/hybrid free flow factory dual exhaust. Power windows, locks, AC, lexan T tops, premium sound system. Has factory alloy rims new 245 x 50 x 16 tires and new 4 wheel disc brakes.
I believe only 104 where built with these options. Pretty rare and very low mileage. A real nice daily driver/collector.
Fully serviced with synthetic engine oil.
There are very few minor items to fix on the car but really it is 28 years old. Power antenna, rear deck alignment, small coolant and oil leak, t tops need to be polished, etc. etc. Must love cars.
Its really fun to drive handling like a corvette. Plenty of power for carving thru the mountains or racing on the drag strip. One of the fastest best handling collector cars I have owned and one of the most exciting to cruise in.
Here are a couple of videos of the car.

1955 Studebaker Speedster

My 1st car was a 1954 Studebaker Commander. Nicknamed super stud.
50 years later I have another Studebaker.
I bought this rare project car 2 years ago and have been rebuilding it since then.
It should be on the road again spring of 2021.

Honda CX500

I found and bought this bike as a project July 2020. The bike had been very well cared for but parked for years while the owner was still touring with his bigger newer bikes well into his late 70s.
Had to have tank cleaned, bad gas and rust, carbs rebuilt and general tune up. Replaced coils, plugs, plug wires, oils and steering neck bearings. Work done in Westbank by Chris James.
The bike was cosmetically in great shape and was approved for collector plates as I bought it.
Why the "plastic maggot"? I owned one for a couple years in 81 82 had to sell it one winter to pay rent. Loved that weird bike then and have been looking for another one since. This one came up for sale and the time was right.
When I met my current wife I had the CX500 and we went on a ride or 2 on it but she did not like riding. However when I asked Cherie a few weeks later if I could store the bike in her carport for a few weeks she said yes. That was when we where first dating in 1982. We have been together since for 38 years.
I still have stuff stored at her/our place.
So the bike really brings back good memories.
Many new innovations where introduced with this engineered series. I will be looking for a turbo model next.

My 1934 ford 5 window coupe deluxe: One of my most favorite cars ever!
383 stroker. 400 hp 700 r4 transmission. 3.70 ford 9” rear end. TCI frame 4 link suspension with coil over shocks and 4 wheel disc brakes.
When I bought it it needed some finishing touches, Rebuilt the engine and added aluminum heads and more Chrome, new red interior, new griffon aluminum radiator and many other small tweaks. I’ve noticed when I drive it all ages of people give me the thumbs up which shows how this old car has remained Popular for so many years.
